The original MAGURA MDP 13 brake pads are specially developed to unlock the full potential, power, and quiet performance of the 4-piston brake calipers in the GUSTAV, RACE, and CLARA ranges. With an optimized contact surface and 94% more wear material, these pads deliver exceptional longevity, increased resistance to brake fade (overheating), and precise control on the longest, most demanding descents.
Magura MDP 13 brake pad highlights
Extended service life (+94% wear volume): A wider friction surface and thicker pad material maximize longevity and extend the time between replacements.
Metal-infused organic pads (up to 30%): Offer the ideal balance of cold bite, heat resistance, and ultra-quiet operation.
Fade protection: Maintains consistent stopping power on long, steep descents or when carrying a heavy system weight (e-MTB, bikepacking).
Custom compound range: Available in Yellow (Gold), Silver, and Black compounds to match your riding style.
Complete kit for 4-piston calipers: Supplied as a set of 4 individual pads with the original retaining screws.
Yellow / Gold (R-Performance): Maximum power and stopping force for short, hard, aggressive braking in competition.
Silver / Silver (S-Performance): Optimal heat resistance to maintain powerful, consistent braking on long, sustained descents.
Black / Grey (P-Comfort / Allround): The perfect balance of controlled power, long life, and ultra-quiet everyday performance.
Care and cleaning tips
Clean the rotors and calipers regularly with a dedicated disc brake cleaner (avoid oils, grease, and household cleaners).
Replace the pads immediately if the pad material reaches the minimum safety thickness recommended by Magura or becomes contaminated with lubricants.
Bedding-in procedure and tips
Proper bedding-in before first use is essential to achieve maximum friction, prevent squealing, and ensure even pad wear.
Bedding-in procedure: On a flat, clear stretch of road, accelerate to 25-30 km/h, then brake progressively but firmly until you slow to walking speed (without locking the wheel).
Repeat: Repeat this process 30 times in a row to transfer pad material onto the rotor and allow the compound to outgas.
Avoid: Avoid hard emergency braking or prolonged wheel lockups until the pads have been fully bedded in.
