Designed for Race Face Cinch Cranks, this absoluteBLACK Premium oval boost chainring is compatible with Shimano 12spd Hyperglide+ chain. It feature the exact same excellent oval shape as rest of AB oval chainring portfolio. This new type of direct mount chainring will make your Race Face Cinch crank looking great and perfectly mesh with Shimano 12spd Hyperglide+ chain. This particular chainring will ONLY works with CN-M9100, 8100 & 7100 Shimano 12spd Hyperglide+ chain due to different thickness of the teeth

• Chain Length : Bypassing the rear derailleur, run the chain around front chainring/largest cog combination. (For the full suspension frame, position the rear suspension for the greatest chain length required. It's usually a normal position where rear shock if fully extended) Add 2 to 4 segments of the chain to this length for proper chain length.

How to mount Absolute Black Oval Chainring

The chainring has a mark on the backside that you need to line up with the center of the crank arm to achieve the main/recommended position. Once this is done use BB ISIS key to lock the lockring. If you wish to try more aggressive setup, rotate the chainring from main position clockwise by one notch on the splines. This will rotate oval by further 22deg. We do Not recommend second position for beginners. Before you start experimenting with the clocking of the ring, make sure you ridden minimum 5 months in the main position first

Chain compatibility

These specific chainrings are only compatible with Shimano HG+ 12 speed chains (CN-M9100, CN-M8100 , CN-M7100) due to specific tooth profile. Using other chains may cause chain to drop very easily from the chainring due to thinner than usual teeth.
