The all-new F-Trick full suspension range, has so many things in common with the high-end adult bikes that we’re hard pressed to call it a kids bike. Forward Geometry, the Updated Zero Suspension System, 120mm and 130mm travel, dropper posts, 12x148mm drop-outs, 30mm stems, 4 piston brakes and 2.4” tyres. It’s enough to leave you out of breath.
Picking up the baton from the old Factor range, the F-Trick comes in 24” and 26” flavours. As such the F-Trick 24” is perfect for kids from 8 to 11 years old (135-155cm) and the F-Trick 26” suits anyone from 10 to 14 years old (145-165cm).
At first sight it might be hard to tell if the F-Trick is a kids bike or a bike for adults. The design language is straight out of the NEAT or F-PODIUM handbook, with minimalistic tubes and straight lines that soften the aesthetic to give the bike a true Mondraker personality, only in small form format. The icing on top is the same new Forward Geometry as on the adult bikes but tweaked to suit kids’ needs, and details like 30mm stems to keep the steering sharp but stable.
One of the raddest features of the new F-Trick range is that both the 24” and 26” versions come with the all new Updated Zero Suspension System. The F-Trick is only the third range to feature this new take on our Zero system, following hard on the heels of the recently launched Neat and F-Podium models. It’s a gift that keeps giving when you consider it gives 120mm of travel on the smaller-wheeled version (up from 100mm) and 130mm on the 26” model (compared to 120mm on the Factor it replaces) as well as the many other advantages well detail later. The forks have also been upgraded, from 120mm on the 24” bike (100mm on the Factor 24”) and 140mm on the 26” bike (up from 120mm on the Factor 26”).
